Nurture and respond to reviews
Un-vetted services and businesses tend to scare off consumers. Let’s be honest, would you use a barber with no track record of leaving customers satisfied with their haircuts? You’ll have to encourage your customers to go online and leave a review for GMB to pick up. Might want to start with people you trust. The more reviews you have, the more exposure your business can get.
Hopefully, the first thing you did with your GMB listing was include your address. (Although, it may be a bit tricky if you don’t yet have a physical address.) Assuming you have an address (or have updated your listing with an accurate address), make sure it follows recognized and standardized guidelines. Any irregularities within your GMB listing could adversely affect your local ranking.
Add relevant images
Remember the old saying, “a picture’s worth a thousand words?” You should live by this adage because a lack of images can negatively affect the number of new customers you get. Funny enough, many businesses still don’t include images in their GMB listing. If you’re one of these businesses, keep in mind that customers today like to do their online legwork before visiting a business and will want photos of products, storefront, signage and so on.
